Leela Comes Home

We brought her home yesterday. She made it through the (ever feared) first night without accident. Since she isn’t 100% crate trained yet, we (per the advice of The Monks) put a pile of blankets next to the bed and tethered a very short leash to the bed frame. This way she could smell and hear us, but still remain submissive by sleeping on the floor. Once she gets used to the crate, we’ll move the extra one upstairs and put her in there during the night.

She woke us up 3 times during the night to go to the bathroom. Each time she put her paws on top of the cardboard box that was on the floor and whimpered softly. This is much better than howling. I’m very happy that the first night wasn’t as traumatic as most people make it out to be.

Expect many pictures in the near future.
