Since we are getting a puppy in the next month or so, we need to come up with names. We’ve already chosen a name for a boy, but there is a chance that our puppy could be a girl. We simply haven’t chosen our pup yet.
Your assignment: Help name our potentially female puppy. A requirement for submissions are that the name must be 2 or 3 syllables and gender specific or neutral. Boy names for a girl dog sound odd and send mixed signals to other people. As a small preference on my part, I like the idea of the name being an obscure name from a science fiction or fantasy novel/movie/show.

Marapoza (I’m not sure that’s how it’s spelled, but it means butterfly which could be confusing to spanish people I guess… but I think it’s pretty!)
Since Mojo is named after a Matt Groening character (Mojo the helper monkey) we are currently leaning toward “Leela” for a female puppy name. This is an homage to Turanga Leela of Futurama fame. Thoughts on that?
Leela isn’t as obscure a name as Mojo.. Maybe something more obscure from Futurama like: Hattie McDoogal Morgan Proctor LaBarbara Conrad Lulabelle 7 Daisy Mae 128-K
“The Crushinator” would be my choice before “Daisy Mae 128-k.” Although, those are much harder to say in a hurry than “Leela.”
I think Swisher has some names that he’s been kicking around. Perhaps he’ll share with the other children.
