Interesting. On my Comcast Motorola non-DVR HD box, it's a 5-minite skip, not a 30-second skip.

Here is a more detailed page describing other things you can program into your remote, including setting up macros!

@Rebekah – Yes. It’s generally because of low quality coaxial cable or low quality line splicers. A technician can fix that for you. Re: copying to tape, there are many ways to copy to VHS. I can’t describe it in a blog comment though. Try googling for solutions.

Who cares if they are punk or not? There are some people that shop there who don’t even identify as punk or even care about trying to be punk. I got some stuff from their website once and I don’t identify as punk. What’s wrong with selling stuff they know people will buy if they aren’t hurting anyone? Where else would people buy most of the stuff they sell? They sell some stuff that isn’t punk that I wouldn’t even want to buy but that doesn’t mean all their stuff is bad.

I think walmart is a joke. As an ex-employee with not hard-feelings i believe it really is a joke. They pay well, they provide us with jobs, and honestly who doesnt end up there at least once a month. Its a time saver from going to altoona, state college, or lewistown. But when it comes down to it……. The place is hell lol. They provide absolutely no chance to move up in the company unless its in a store level position in which case. The only way to” move up” is to literally “move down” as long as your a female. If you get my drift. Its disgusting.

The $20-30 a month estimate is definitely too high for our household. We typically use microfiber towels for just about everything from cleaning in the kitchen to other household cleaning. We have tons of them and change them out almost daily, throwing them in the washer once we accumulate a full load. (Note that kitchen towels always stay separate from "non food related" towels. 'Cause, ew.) Paper towels remain reserved for the uber-gross/bacteria-laden...like if one of the cats sporadically decides the litter box is optional.

We purchase one case of paper towels from Costco per YEAR for somewhere around $35. Incidentally, we also purchased our microfiber towels at Costco for something like $17 per 25-pack.

Prairie and I were also somewhat staggered by the "$20-30 per month" in paper towels claim. We tend to buy a new roll of paper towels...um...maybe once a month. Once every two months is far more likely.

Like Cindy, using actual, washable towels works fine for us.
