This is a followup to Bridget’s recent post. It seems that the entire problem was in the wall of the second floor bathroom. A cracked waste pipe was to blame. You can obviously see the hole and crack in the picture below. I wish I had known that when I remodeled that bathroom the first time.
Also, I realize that using the term “hole,” “crack,” “pipe,” and “bathroom” will draw porn hits. What a glorious day it is to have my waste pipe taken care of by a master plumber.
