Thanks to exit, I’ve got a 19 inch Silicon Graphics monitor sitting on my desk (as well as 2 Silicon Graphics machines sitting under my desk). I’ve been unable to get my Mac OS X 10.3.8 machine to see the monitor. SGI machines have proprietary connectors so an SGI to VGA adapter was neccessary. Luckily, I had one of those and all seemed to be ripe for the picking. Unfortunately on boot, nothing happened. The monitor stays in “amber” mode while the OS happily chugs along. If anyone has any tricks to try out, I’d be happy to entertain them. Pictures of the items in question are provided for those that are interested.
- SGI Monitor: Front view
- SGI Monitor: Rear view
- SGI Monitor: S-Video out (?)
- SGI Monitor Adapter: All plugs and top view
UPDATE: This question was played on the MacCast. My second appearance! About 15 minutes into the podcast.
