Crazy Monkey

Of all the writers that I know, including my wife, none of them haves blogs. Until now. Finally someone has taken the plunge and decided to jump on the bandwagon. Welcome to the fray Mr. Jordan.

I Can Stop Bullets?

The Matrix is my favorite movie. I’ve seen it numerous times. When word went around that there would be two more films I was ecstatic. I ordered my VIP tickets at Loews for the second film, The Matrix Reloaded, over 2 months before it was released. I was psyched. I watched it and enjoyed it as an action movie. It had all the standard action movie crap: gun fights, car chases, sex scenes. However, I didn’t enjoy it as a Matrix film.

When I saw The Matrix in the theater for the first time it blew me away. I went and saw it 2 more times in the theater before it closed it’s run. As of today I have seen it over 30 times. I can recite the movie line for line. Conversely, I’ve seen The Matrix Reloaded one time. I had no desire to see it again. What does that say about the impression that the second movie made on me? I can only remember the parts that were glaringly against everything the first film had done.

I didn’t get advance tickets to The Matrix Revolutions. I’m not even sure I’m going to go see it this weekend. I’ll go see it when I get around to it. I’ll watch the first two movies again before I go. Hopefully that will reinvigorate my interest, but right now the excitement is gone. It was killed by the second installment back in May.

Strap on the old number 17

I was recently contacted by a new aquaintance and wanted to add him to my AIM buddy list. I attempted to add him but a very strange error was returned. It read “Could not add <buddyname> to your buddy list. (Feedbag error 17).” Feedbag?

I was then enlightened by the wonderful folks at Unsanity. Apparently AOL only allows you to have 150 buddies on your list. After that it returns a feedbag error of type 17. Very strange syntax choice. Anyone have any idea why it would be called a ‘feedbag error’.
